If you have a southfacing window to overwinter them near, buying tropical foliage plants near the end of the summer annual season can be a wise and beautiful investment. The plants will be large and lush, but the price will likely be reduced. Pot them up into a larger container before you bring them in and they will continue to put on some growth during the winter and early spring. When it's warm enough to move them back out, you can spend your spring plant funds on plenty of fillers to create an over the top gorgeous display.
Great Choices for Winter Houseplants to Summer Stars: Cordyline, Draceana, Alocasia, Colocasia, Musa, Cyperus and Coleus.
